Chelsea winger Estevao is worried about his playing time under Xabi Alonso. According to ESPN Brasil, the 19-year-old Brazilian has told friends that he fears he will be regularly left on the bench this season.
At the start of the campaign, Estevao came off the bench in matches against Luton and Fulham, but he was completely sidelined during Chelsea's thrilling 4-3 victory over Brighton.
The competition in Chelsea's attacking line remains fierce. Alonso has at his disposal the likes of Pedro Neto, Morgan Rogers, Cole Palmer, and Geovany Quenda, which has limited Estevao's minutes on the pitch.
The Brazilian joined Chelsea for £52 million and has made 38 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals. He missed the end of last season due to a hamstring injury.
This summer, Liverpool expressed interest in Estevao. Reports suggested the Merseysiders were weighing up a move amid potential departures, including that of Cody Gakpo, but no formal offer was made.
With Estevao's concerns about his playing time, Liverpool may revisit their interest in the winter transfer window. However, there are currently no reports of negotiations between the clubs or any concrete proposals in the works.
