Brentford have officially announced the arrival of El-Hadji Malik Diouf from West Ham. The 21-year-old Senegalese defender has put pen to paper on a five-year deal, which includes the option for an additional year. The exact fee for the transfer remains undisclosed.
Last season, Diouf made 32 appearances in the Premier League and contributed five assists while consistently featuring on the left flank of West Ham's defence.
Brentford's head coach, Kitt Andrews, shared his thoughts on signing Diouf:
We are delighted to have secured Malik's signature. He fits our profile perfectly in terms of age and possesses tremendous potential for development.
I believe he had a really promising first season in English football with West Ham. His qualities as a full-back can further strengthen what is already a strong part of our team. I can't wait to start working with Malik.
Before moving to England, Diouf had stints with Norwegian side Tromsø and Czech club Slavia Prague, where he enjoyed a successful season in 2024/25, scoring seven goals and providing three assists across 27 league matches, helping his team clinch the title and participating in 12 European games.
The defender made his move to West Ham in the summer of 2025. On the international stage, Diouf represents Senegal, having made his debut for the national team in September 2024 and going on to compete in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup.
