The starting line-ups for Chelsea and Leeds in the EFL Cup Round of 16 for the 2026/27 season have been announced.
The match is set to take place today, 9 September, at Stamford Bridge, with both teams opting for significant squad rotations.
Xabi Alonso has named Mike Penders in goal for Chelsea, with Malou Gusto, Levi Colwill, Maxens Lacroix, Josh Achempon and Pep Chavarria forming a reshuffled backline.
In midfield, the Blues will feature Estevao, Reggie Watson, Valentin Barco, and Jamie Bynon-Gittens, while veteran striker Danny Welbeck leads the attack.
Young Reggie Watson, just 16, is attracting plenty of attention as he makes his debut in such a crucial match. According to We Ain't Got No History, Watson has become the fourth youngest player in Chelsea's history to start a match.
Leeds, meanwhile, have also made notable changes. James Trafford takes the gloves, with a back three consisting of Tarik Mukhamedovich, Jakub Biyol, and Nico Elvedi.
They will employ Jayden Bogle and James Justin on the flanks, while the midfield duo of Ethan Ampadu and Sean Longstaff will look to control the centre of the park.
Brenden Aaronson and Harry Wilson will provide width in attack, supporting central striker Lukas Nmecha.
