Arsenal secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Chelsea, allowing Mikel Arteta's side to maintain their flawless start to the Premier League alongside Manchester City.
The Gunners initially fell behind to a goal from Morgan Rogers, but responded valiantly with strikes from Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard sealing the win.
Following the London derby, former Premier League striker Troy Deeney named his Team of the Week for BBC Sport, featuring four Arsenal players: David Raya, Ezri Konsa, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz.
Deeney highlighted Raya's crucial save after a strike from Estevao:
“Massive saves again. That’s why he’s the best goalkeeper in the league.”
He also praised summer recruit Ezri Konsa for his solid display defensively:
“Solid performance. He’s stepping in and just making that massive tackle on Morgan Rogers. I think he fits into an already incredible Arsenal team. I see a role there that they can’t live without, he’s going to have to play right back when everyone gets fit and available.”
On captain Martin Odegaard, Deeney remarked:
“Captain, leader, and a massive winner. It’s one of those moments where you think, how were they discussing moving Odegaard on? It’s terrifying.”
Finally, Deeney hailed Havertz as a key asset for the club:
“Without a doubt, the best forward for Arsenal. We keep getting told that Dijkeresh will step up, but Havertz is their best attacker. He’s proving that week in, week out. He’s the best player they have, and their finest finisher as well.”
