Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has sung the praises of Ronald Araujo, who delivered an impressive performance in the Premier League win against Brighton, securing a 2-0 result.
The Uruguayan, on loan from Barcelona, took up the right-back position and played a pivotal role in keeping a clean sheet, helping the team climb into the top four of the table.
The scoring got underway when Florian Wirtz's strike inadvertently found the back of the net off Pascal Gross. Alexander Isak then added a second goal. Araujo was instrumental, winning crucial battles and stifling the opposition's attacks.
Iraola was full of praise for the Uruguayan defender's commitment on the pitch.
I think we all enjoyed watching Ronald battle out there. He's very strong in duels.
The manager also highlighted Araujo's professionalism. In Liverpool's previous two matches, he had been substituted at half-time to bolster the attack, but this time the defender played the full 90 minutes, responding excellently to the situation.
Currently on a one-year loan at Liverpool, the club has the option to buy him from Barcelona next year for £47 million.
Next up for the team is a challenging League Cup match against Chelsea on Wednesday.
