Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has positively assessed Alexander Isak's performances at the start of the season.
The Spanish coach noted that the striker is in good physical shape and is gradually better understanding the team's demands:
I think he's doing well. I'm pleased with how he's improving from match to match.
Physically, he's in a very good condition at the moment. You can see that he's moving confidently, and we already know about his technical qualities. He's getting a better grasp of what we need from a player in the number nine position.
Iraola also commended Lewis Kumas, who made his Champions League debut against Atletico. The manager revealed that during his first week at the club, he urged the hierarchy to keep the young talent in the squad:
I had virtually no doubts about him because he can play in several attacking positions — out wide, as a nine, or even a ten. He trains excellently, has the right attitude, and is a very good player. He knows how to score.
Like any young player, there's still room for improvement, but he already has enough experience playing at a high level in the Championship.
I believe he's ready to help us. I like what he brings to the team, and I'm really pleased that he's with us.
