Rumours surrounding a potential move for Barcelona's 22-year-old left-back Alejandro Balde to Manchester United during the closing hours of the transfer deadline have proven unfounded. According to Sky Sports journalist Danjil Khan, no significant deal for the Spanish full-back will take place this evening.
The Red Devils have indeed been monitoring the young Spaniard for a while, praising his explosive pace, technique, and ability to progress the ball in transitional phases. However, Barcelona's firm stance dashed hopes of a transfer: the Catalan club set an exorbitant price tag and categorically refused to consider selling the player at a discount.
