Chelsea have secured a new long-term contract with Pedro Neto, ensuring the Portuguese winger will remain at the club until at least 2032.
Neto joined Chelsea in the summer of 2024 from Wolverhampton and has quickly established himself as a vital figure in the club's attacking lineup. During his time with the Blues, he has made 108 appearances, contributing 21 goals and 19 assists.
This new agreement reinforces Chelsea's commitment to retaining key players, as the club has also extended contracts for several important squad members, including Joao Pedro, this summer.
Neto stays with Chelsea
The Portuguese winger played a significant role in Chelsea's successes in 2025, winning the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Notably, during the Club World Cup, Neto scored three goals throughout the tournament.
In the current season, he has already found the net twice, with his latest goal coming in the EFL Cup match against Leeds. After a challenging first half, Chelsea mounted an impressive comeback to win 6-3, with Neto scoring the third goal that put them ahead for the first time.
A key player for Xabi Alonso
Since Xabi Alonso's arrival, Neto's role has become even more versatile. The winger can operate both on his usual flank and in deeper roles, including as a wing-back.
His versatility, pace, and intensity make him a valuable asset in Alonso's tactical setup.
Neto himself has highlighted his comfort at Chelsea and his ongoing development since moving from Wolverhampton. The club has lauded his reliability and ability to perform in various attacking positions.
According to The Sun, Manchester City showed interest in Neto over the summer, but the player opted to continue his career at Stamford Bridge. This new contract effectively addresses any uncertainties about his immediate future.
Neto: 'I feel at home here'
Following the signing of his new agreement, Neto expressed how significant his time in London has been for him.
'This is an incredible moment. Since I arrived, I've always felt immense support from the people here. I feel at home and want to achieve even greater successes with this club.'
With this long-term guarantee, Neto solidifies his career at Chelsea, while the club retains one of its most dynamic attacking players.
