Hull City manager Sergei Yakirovich has openly pondered the methods to counter Chelsea's attacking firepower in light-hearted fashion as they prepare for their Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge this Saturday.
The Tigers have made a stunning return to the Premier League, maintaining a clean sheet in their opening three matches: victories against Manchester United and Coventry City were followed by a goalless draw against Aston Villa last week.
However, Hull face their toughest challenge yet this season as Chelsea have been in formidable form, scoring 16 goals in their first five fixtures across the Premier League and domestic cup competitions. Yakirovich's side will have to keep an eye on the dangerous attacking trio of Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer, and Morgan Rogers.
When asked how his team plans to cope with the relentless Chelsea attack, the Bosnian coach responded with a smile:
"Kick them on the legs? No, if you try to man-mark those guys, you simply stand no chance. It's straightforward: they can dribble past one, two, or three players with ease. The only solution is to stay compact and work together as a team, putting in collective effort and defending as a unit. We'll see how it goes. The opponent possesses incredible individual quality; it's going to be a tough challenge for us, but we'll strive to play our game."
