Hull City are keen on securing the services of midfielder Ivan Bašić, currently with Astana. The 24-year-old Bosnian international could potentially be heading for a change of scenery come January, with reports suggesting that Italian club Udinese is also vying for his signature.
One of the factors linking Basich to the English side is their manager, Sergej Jakirović. He has previously worked with the midfielder at Zrinjski and knows his talents well.
However, there has been no official confirmation of talks between Hull and Astana as yet. The interest is largely based on media speculation, so it’s premature to discuss a confirmed transfer.
According to Italian outlet TuttoUdinese, Udinese's interest in Bašić has resurfaced. The Serie A side considered bringing him on board last summer, but there are no reports of a formal offer or negotiations taking place.
Transfermarkt estimates the midfielder’s market value to be around €1.5 million. He is under contract with Astana until December 31, 2026, which could play a crucial role in determining the terms of any prospective move.
During the 2025/26 season, Bašić featured in 20 matches in the Kazakh league, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
On the international stage, he represents Bosnia and Herzegovina, having made 24 appearances and scored one goal.
