Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin spoke to Sky Sports reporters after their 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Elland Road.
The experienced forward believes his side was simply unfortunate to miss out on a win. He attributed the dropped points to a lack of quality in the final third. Despite the setback, the Leeds players were not surprised by United's decision to field three central defenders.
We needed to be sharper in the final third, especially before half-time. We were putting in good deliveries into the box, but we simply lacked enough players there.
In the second half, we came out with more confidence in attack. I think we were just unlucky not to win the match.
They tried to mirror our formation. That’s no surprise given last season's experience. They probably assessed our physical attributes and playing style and decided to mark us individually.
It took us a bit of time to adapt, but it wasn't too difficult. What’s more important is that we just lacked a bit of skill in finishing.
