Chelsea has announced the extension of their contract with youth team goalkeeper Freddy Bernal. The new agreement will keep him at the club until at least June 2029.
Bernal has been part of the Blues' academy since he was eight years old and was the first-choice keeper for the team that claimed the Under-18 Premier League title at Stamford Bridge.
Currently, the young goalkeeper regularly features for the reserves and recently kept a clean sheet in the EFL Trophy against Reading.
Last season, he made a significant impression in the UEFA Youth League, delivering standout performances against Bayern Munich, Benfica, and Ajax.
Bernal has also been a regular call-up for England's youth teams, and the Chelsea hierarchy hold high regard for his maturity and reliability on the pitch.
