Manchester City edged Ipswich in a thrilling contest, winning 3-2, while Liverpool battled back to defeat Brentford 2-1, and Fulham clinched a narrow victory over Hull City.
Manchester City 3-2 Ipswich
Manchester City continued their strong form in the Premier League with a narrow 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town. The match saw City take an early lead courtesy of Phil Foden, who found the net in the 19th minute after being set up by Jeremy Doku. However, it didn't take long for Ipswich to respond, as Danny Maeda levelled the score just two minutes later, capitalising on a pass from Gabriel Watara.
Erling Haaland restored Manchester City's lead in the 34th minute, striking again after a clever assist from Mateo Kovacic. The Norwegian was at it again in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 69th minute after a well-placed ball from Illiman Ndiaye.
Haaland thought he had completed his hat-trick with a third goal in the 85th minute, but it was ruled out for offside. Ipswich added drama in the dying minutes, as they pulled one back through a penalty converted by Flemming right at the 90-minute mark. However, Manchester City held on for the win.
Brentford 1-2 Liverpool
In another exciting encounter, Liverpool made a strong comeback to defeat Brentford 2-1. The home side took the lead just before half-time, with Kevin Lewis-Potter scoring in the 44th minute following a neat pass from Thiago. Brentford’s hopes of securing points were dashed when Egor Yarmolyuk received a red card just seconds later, leaving the hosts a man down heading into the break.
With the numerical advantage, Liverpool took control in the second half. Victor Munoz equalised in the 62nd minute after a good ball from Florian Wirtz, and it was Alexander Isak who sealed the deal with a winning goal in the 70th minute, courtesy of Bradley Barcola’s assist. Liverpool successfully turned the tide and returned home with three crucial points.
Fulham 1-0 Hull City
Fulham managed to grab a narrow 1-0 win against Hull City at Craven Cottage. The decisive moment came in the 33rd minute when Alex Iwobi netted the only goal of the match after receiving a smart pass from Sander Berge. The Cottagers faced some late pressure when Ryan Sessegnon was sent off in stoppage time, but they held firm to secure the win. Hull City tried to turn things around in the second half but couldn’t capitalise on their opportunities.
