Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters has acknowledged that the verdict on Manchester City's financial case is taking longer than expected. Hearings concluded in December 2024, yet the independent commission's decision remains undisclosed.

Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters has confirmed that the verdict on Manchester City's financial allegations is taking longer than initially anticipated. However, he has declined to provide any timelines for the announcement of the decision.

Masters stated:

Our rules are crystal clear: I am obliged to maintain confidentiality until we are ready to announce a decision. I cannot disclose any timelines or what is currently transpiring.

There is only one way — to allow the process to take its course. It has taken longer than expected, and I understand the frustration.

City faced allegations of 115 purported breaches of financial rules back in February 2023, which later increased to 130 counts after some phrasing adjustments. The club has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Hearings conducted by an independent commission were held from September to December 2024, but the verdict has yet to be published.
