Brighton have confirmed the signing of striker Promis David from Union, with the 25-year-old Canadian joining the club on a season-long loan.
The deal includes an obligation to buy under certain conditions, with Sky Sports reporting that Brighton would pay £22 million should those conditions be met.
David has netted 41 goals in 82 appearances for Union and played a pivotal role in helping the club secure the Belgian championship in the 2024/25 season. He has also represented Canada 14 times, finding the back of the net four times.
Brighton's sporting director, Mike Cave, shared his thoughts:
We have been tracking Promis for some time. He is a genuine centre-forward with outstanding physical attributes and a proven goal-scoring record. At 25, he is entering the prime of his career, and we're excited to help him continue his development.
