Jack Grealish was excluded from Everton's League Cup squad due to a disciplinary issue. Media claim he spent two consecutive nights out in pubs in London and Cheshire.

Jack Grealish was excluded from Everton's squad for the League Cup match against Newcastle due to a breach of club discipline. The club did not disclose further details, but British media link the decision to two late nights out for the player.

Before the match, Everton officially stated:

Jarrad Branthwaite is out of the squad for the second consecutive match due to concussion protocol, and Jack Grealish is unavailable for selection due to a breach of club discipline.

According to The Sun, Grealish reportedly spent Monday night in London after the Pride of Britain Awards ceremony and then went to BAM Karaoke Box, where he remained until the early hours of the morning.

The following day, it is claimed he returned to North West England and met up with friends again, visiting The Mucky Pup pub and a bowling venue in Altrincham.

A source told the publication:

Jack was in great spirits after the ceremony and went to London with a couple of friends. He arrived at BAM very late and stayed there until the early hours. They were drinking, singing, and left very late. It was clear he was having a great time.

It was also reported that Jordan Pickford, Tyler Dibling, and Kyle Walker were with Grealish on Tuesday.

Representatives for the player declined to comment on these reports.

Previously, Grealish had missed the 0-2 defeat to Arsenal due to illness and reportedly did not participate in one of the subsequent training sessions.

David Moyes had earlier emphasised that he expects not just quality on the pitch from the 31-year-old player but also leadership within the team:

I think Jack knows what I expect from him. We had a lot of conversations last year. He knows he has the opportunity to play here and show his football.

But I also want him to be a seasoned professional and an example to others. We have Tyreek and Tyler, and if they need an example of how a winger should play, Jack Grealish can certainly provide that.

They can learn a lot from him, and I want him to be a mentor who helps and guides them. Jack has become much more mature in understanding the game, the requirements, and teamwork. And he still has a very individual style.

It is currently unclear whether Grealish will return to the Everton squad for their next Premier League match against Newcastle.
