15-Second Brief
Bryan Gruda impressed in the Champions League, netting a winning goal for RB Leipzig and earning comparisons to Lamine Yamal. However, Brighton may only get €25 million for the 22-year-old, as the loan agreement includes a mandatory buy clause.

Brighton could be regretting the terms of the deal for Bryan Gruda. The 22-year-old midfielder, currently on loan at RB Leipzig, has been making waves in the Champions League, but the German club can secure his services for just €25 million.

In a gripping encounter on Tuesday, Leipzig triumphed over PSV with a 1-0 victory, thanks to a stunning goal from Gruda in the 75th minute.

Yet it wasn't just the striking winner that caught the eye of European media. The German talent also showcased his remarkable skill with an impressive solo run, drawing comparisons to Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.

French publication Foot Mercato described the moment as incredible and suggested it deserved comparison with Yamal's recent dazzling run in the match against Galatasaray.

For Brighton, Gruda's standout performances may prompt reconsideration of how favourable the agreed summer transfer terms actually are.

Returning to Leipzig on loan after spending part of last season at the club, Gruda’s agreement reportedly includes a mandatory buy clause that could be triggered if he plays around 12 matches for Leipzig.

Should that happen, Leipzig will pay Brighton approximately €25 million, excluding the loan fee.

If Gruda maintains his current form, that fee could turn out to be well below his potential market value.

This is especially significant given he is only 22 and his eye-catching displays are already attracting interest beyond Germany.

While the comparisons to Lamine Yamal are currently confined to specific technical moments rather than an overall assessment of the two players, Leipzig could potentially secure a promising midfielder at a remarkably low price. Conversely, Brighton, having already agreed to these buyout terms, risk missing out on a lucrative return as his career progresses.
