Trent Alexander-Arnold has made a final decision on his future at Real Madrid despite interest from Chelsea, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.
Balague dismissed rumours of a possible departure for the defender, telling talkSPORT:
"I can say 100% that he will not leave Real Madrid in January. So forget about that story... He didn't sign a six-year contract for nothing. He wants to succeed at Real Madrid and intends to stay there for a long time."
Alexander-Arnold has faced difficulties since joining Real Madrid. In an injury-hit first season, he started only 14 La Liga matches, while in the current campaign under Jose Mourinho he has started just four of 11 games. Nevertheless, the defender feels in excellent physical condition thanks to his work with a personal nutritionist and trainer and is determined to fight for his place. Chelsea are monitoring the situation amid problems at right-back and Reece James' frequent injuries, but Real Madrid do not intend to let Alexander-Arnold leave.
