According to TEAMtalk, Leeds have returned to the possibility of signing Gabriel Sara, with Galatasaray demanding around €40 million (£32 million).

Leeds United are exploring options to strengthen their attack ahead of the January transfer window. They spent more than £90 million on their squad last summer, signing goalkeeper James Trafford from Manchester City and defender Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo, but the attack did not receive the same attention.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains the leading scorer for Daniel Farke's side, accounting for 44 per cent of their goals in the Premier League this season. None of their other forwards has scored more than once, while the team have managed just nine goals in total.

To address their scoring problems, Leeds' recruitment team hope to repeat the success of the Raphinha transfer. He was bought from Rennes for £18 million in 2020 and later sold to Barcelona for a club-record £55 million. According to TEAMtalk, Leeds have returned to the possibility of signing Galatasaray's 27-year-old midfielder Gabriel Sara. Liverpool's 23-year-old winger Harvey Elliott, who is returning to Anfield after a loan spell at Valencia, is also on their radar.

Aston Villa, Newcastle and Everton are also interested in the Brazilian playmaker. The Turkish club are demanding around €40 million (£32 million) for the midfielder. This season, Sara is averaging 4.4 chances created and 0.9 clear-cut chances per 90 minutes, figures that surpass those of 98 per cent of attacking players in Europe.
