Liverpool could consider Como midfielder Nico Paz as a potential replacement for Florian Wirtz if the German continues to fall short of expectations. Andoni Iraola's side are going through a difficult period, but the club's hierarchy traditionally give managers time to build a team.
Liverpool have tried to build their attack around Wirtz, signing Bradley Barcola and providing the German with support from Trey Nyoni. So far, however, the plan has not delivered the desired results. One possible solution suggested is 22-year-old Nico Paz, whom Liverpool have been monitoring for some time. Iraola knows the Argentine from his appearances for Real Madrid's reserve team, where Victor Munoz, who joined Liverpool in the summer, also played.
Paz has impressed with his output, scoring three goals and providing five assists in four Champions League matches, as well as registering six goal involvements in nine Serie A games. The Argentine was particularly prominent in Como's 9-1 win over Lens. His ability to score, create chances and link up with team-mates makes him a suitable candidate for the attacking midfield role in Iraola's system.
