Roma have renewed their interest in Chelsea winger Jamie Gittens, 22. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian club regard the Englishman as one of their main targets for the January transfer window.
Gittens has struggled for playing time since joining Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund last season. Roma were interested in him in the summer, but Sky Sports reported that Chelsea did not want to let him leave. The Italian club are now exploring a possible transfer again. Roma are also considering Real Madrid forward Endrick.
Gittens has yet to reproduce the form he showed in Germany since moving to London. A potential loan could help him regain his form and confidence, although Chelsea could also keep him to provide depth in Xabi Alonso's squad. Strong competition for places, which means even Estevao Willian does not always get enough playing time, complicates Gittens' prospects.
