Glen Johnson believes Alex Scott should choose Liverpool over Chelsea if he leaves Bournemouth, who previously rejected a £64 million bid from Chelsea.

Former England defender Glen Johnson believes Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott should choose Liverpool if he decides to leave his current club.

Johnson believes Anfield could offer Scott a more stable environment for the next stage of his career.

Both Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in the 23-year-old Englishman. Bournemouth are prepared to consider selling the midfielder as early as January if they receive an offer of around £100 million.

Johnson discussed Scott's potential choice in an interview with Betfred.

“As things stand, I would say Liverpool. I would choose Liverpool purely because of the stability, although I'm not sure which club he would get more playing time at,” said the former defender.

Chelsea have already attempted to sign Scott, offering £64 million, but Bournemouth rejected the bid. Liverpool also continue to monitor the midfielder's situation.

Across four seasons with Bournemouth, Scott has made 95 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists.
