15-Second Brief
Manchester United and Bayern Munich are tracking 18-year-old Twente defender Ruud Neestadt. Erik ten Hag confirmed top clubs' interest and stated that concrete offers have been received for the player.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich have added Ruud Neestadt to their list of potential defensive reinforcements. The 18-year-old defender from Twente has already attracted interest from several leading European clubs, with Erik ten Hag confirming that concrete offers have been received for the player.

Neestadt graduated from Twente's academy and made his first-team debut last season.

He played 24 matches and accumulated 1,770 minutes on the pitch, while so far this season he has clocked up 1,485 minutes in 17 appearances.

This spring, the defender was linked with Chelsea and Manchester City. Despite the interest, he remained in Enschede over the summer and signed a new contract until 2029.

Now, according to Twente Insite, both Manchester United and Bayern Munich are monitoring the player.

Twente's technical director Erik ten Hag confirmed the significant interest in the defender:

I don’t know what will happen next, but there is indeed interest in him. Several clubs from the European top eight have made concrete offers.

However, he has very consciously decided to spend this season at Twente.

This is a huge talent who joined the first team last season. He is still very young but plays with great confidence.

Working with him is a pleasure. Many leading European clubs have already come to us, and I see this as a good sign.

It’s especially nice that he himself decided to stay at Twente for at least another year, possibly even longer, but this season for sure.

Transfermarkt values Neestadt at €18 million.

If he is sold, Twente could demand a club-record fee. The current record stands at €14 million, which Southampton paid for Dusan Tadic in 2014.

For Manchester United, a central defender remains one of the positions the club aims to strengthen ahead of the next season.
