Barcelona midfielder Rodri is determined to complete his injury rehabilitation in time for the Champions League clash with his former club Manchester City. The match is scheduled for 8 December at Spotify Camp Nou.
According to SPORT, the 30-year-old remains optimistic about his recovery timeline. Rodri suffered a muscle injury in the 3-0 Champions League win over Aston Villa earlier this week.
Initial medical assessments suggested the injury would keep him out for around a month. The Spain midfielder is set to miss several important matches, including Saturday's league game against Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona signed Rodri from City last summer. Under Hansi Flick, the Ballon d'Or winner quickly became an indispensable figure in midfield, featuring in 14 of Barcelona's 15 competitive matches since the start of the season.
Rodri is doing everything he can to be fully fit for City's visit to Barcelona. However, the club's medical staff and management are unlikely to take an unjustified risk with his health if he is not in perfect condition.
