Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro plans to turn down offers from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City in favour of a return to Spain, where Barcelona and Real Madrid are closely monitoring him, according to TEAMtalk.
All three Premier League clubs are exploring the market for a right-back and have requested information about the 27-year-old Spain international after learning that Tottenham are willing to consider a sale for a substantial fee. Chelsea are looking for a replacement for Malo Gusto, whose departure in January is highly likely, while Liverpool and Manchester City want to refresh their options on the flank.
However, Porro's representatives have made it clear that La Liga is his priority. His reputation was significantly enhanced by an impressive World Cup, after which the Spanish clubs stepped up contact with his representatives.
Porro's contract with Tottenham runs until 2031, giving the club a strong negotiating position. Spurs are willing to let him leave only for a world-record fee for a full-back: a buyer would have to exceed the £57 million Paris Saint-Germain paid Inter for Achraf Hakimi in 2021.
That asking price has not deterred either Barcelona or Real Madrid. Barcelona are showing the greatest interest and are exploring a deal as early as January, although they would first need to sell players. They are in talks with Liverpool over a permanent transfer for Ronald Araujo and are willing to consider parting with Alejandro Balde.
Real Madrid also remain highly interested in the Spaniard, but are leaning towards a move next summer while closely monitoring Trent Alexander-Arnold's situation at the Santiago Bernabeu.
