Manchester City's reserve side destroyed Norwich 5-0 in the League Cup third round. 17-year-old Floyd Samba scored twice, while keeper Geronimo Rulli kept a clean sheet on his debut.

Manchester City thrashed Norwich in the third round of the English League Cup, with a resounding 5-0 victory for Enzo Maresca's team.

The City boss fielded an experimental line-up, resting key players, but it didn’t hinder the team’s quest for a comfortable win.

The star of the show was 17-year-old German Floyd Samba, who made an immediate impact by opening the scoring before adding a second to net his first professional brace. Ryan Cherki also got himself on the scoresheet in the first half.

Just after the break, Allan Elias, who joined from Brazilian side Palmeiras over the summer, marked his debut with a goal. The final nail in the coffin was driven in by Ryan Makadou, who came off the bench to replace Cherki.

Former Marseille goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli enjoyed a clean sheet in his first official match for the Manchester outfit.

Next up for Manchester City in the fourth round is a home tie against Brighton, who previously knocked out Manchester United with a 3-2 win.
