Chelsea's Joao Pedro has clinched the Premier League player of the month award for August 2026, his first honours in professional football.
Pedro becomes the first Chelsea player to receive this accolade in nearly two years, with Cole Palmer being the last, having won it in September 2024.
Palmer was also among the nominees for the August award but ultimately fell short to his teammate, who outperformed him and six other contenders in the poll.
The Brazilian has had a stellar start to the 2026/27 season, notching up four goal contributions in his first two league outings.
In the match against Fulham, Pedro struck just 33 seconds in and also provided an assist for Palmer, who scored the winning goal. He followed this performance with another goal and an assist for Palmer in the subsequent fixture against Brighton.
