Emmanuel Petit believes Bradley Barcola should opt for Liverpool over Arsenal due to greater need for a left winger. He also anticipates Chelsea's return to the top four while forecasting a challenging season for Andoni Iraola's team.

Emmanuel Petit has stated that Liverpool would be a better destination for Bradley Barcola compared to Arsenal. The former French international is confident that the Merseyside club is in greater need of strengthening their left flank.

Arsenal have already secured the services of Christos Tzolis this summer, who impressed in the Community Shield. Following the departures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, the Gunners may require another left winger, but Petit questions whether Barcola's transfer would be the best move:

Arsenal have just signed Christos Tzolis, who has made a significant impression. He played brilliantly in the Super Cup. After losing Martinelli and Trossard, they likely need another option on the left.

However, if they sign Barcola, both players could struggle to secure guaranteed starting spots. I’m a big fan of Bradley, but I believe Liverpool need him far more than Arsenal do. They definitely have to bolster their flanks, particularly the left, where issues have been evident since the start of last season.

Despite this, the Frenchman isn't convinced that Barcola's arrival will instantly propel Liverpool back among the league's elite. He feels that Andoni Iraola will need time to adapt after his move from Bournemouth.

Peti also expressed optimism about Chelsea's prospects under Xabi Alonso, suggesting that the absence of European competitions could aid their quest for higher league positions:

Chelsea are a massive club with a wealth of talented players who must be weary from recent disappointing seasons. They’ve won the Club World Cup and the Conference League, but for a club of Chelsea’s stature, that simply isn’t enough.

They need to return to the Champions League and challenge for the title. The lack of European midweek fixtures will be a huge advantage. Those matches drain energy and hinder consistency in the Premier League. Thus, I see Chelsea competing in the top three alongside Arsenal and Manchester City.

When it comes to the final Champions League spot, Petit has reserved it for Manchester United, leaving Liverpool on the outside looking in:

The fourth place is the tricky one to predict. It will likely be a battle between Manchester United and Liverpool. My top four would be Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United. I think Liverpool are going to find it tough again this season.
