Aston Villa are indeed keen on Nicolas Jackson. If they are looking to make a move, the reason for the lack of action at the moment is primarily this: if both clubs are keen to reflect the Morgan Rogers transfer and potentially secure Nicolas Jackson's arrival at Aston Villa, selling Jackson would positively influence their financial reporting. Such sales can be accounted in the annual balance, allowing for the associated costs to be amortized, which makes the transfer more financially viable.
However, according to the new UEFA rules, you cannot conduct such mirror or separate deals within a 45-day window. Reflecting back on the Rogers transfer, it’s likely that both Aston Villa and Chelsea would prefer to finalise any transfer towards the end of the window, as we are still within this 45-day timeframe.
