Fulham celebrated 19-year-old academy graduate Josh King’s first senior England call-up for the Nations League matches.

Fulham have shared a video from their Motspur Park training ground showing players and staff celebrating 19-year-old midfielder Josh King’s first senior England call-up. The club’s official account posted footage of team-mates embracing and congratulating a smiling King in the dressing room and gym.

Thomas Tuchel confirmed King’s call-up for November’s Nations League matches against Croatia at Wembley and Spain in Madrid. King was among those called up for the first time alongside Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham, while Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Kobbie Mainoo were left out of the squad.

Tuchel praised King’s attitude, character, versatility and ability to play in several positions. The midfielder had previously been involved in training with the senior team during their summer camp in Florida before the 2026 World Cup.

Born in Kingston upon Thames, Josh King joined Fulham’s academy aged eight after scouts spotted him playing in a park. Having progressed through the youth teams, he signed his first professional contract in early 2024 and made his senior debut against Birmingham in the EFL Cup in August 2024, before making his first Premier League appearances.

King signed a new four-year deal in July 2025 and has become a regular starter under Alvaro Arbeloa this season, regularly contributing goals and assists and displaying an outstanding work rate.

Fulham head coach Alvaro Arbeloa called King “the pride of our club”, highlighting his humility and rapid progress. King is the first Fulham outfield player to be called up to the senior England squad since Bobby Zamora.
