Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde is considering a move to Liverpool. According to Sport, the Spaniard has been impressed by how Ronald Araujo's loan spell helped his former team-mate rebuild his reputation and make an impact in the Premier League.
Araujo joined Liverpool on loan last summer with an option to buy for around £50 million. The Uruguayan has performed well for Liverpool, who could consider a permanent move for him.
Balde is also considering leaving Barcelona. The defender turned down offers from other clubs in the summer, hoping to regain his place in the starting line-up, but his situation has not changed. His agent, Jorge Mendes, is now discussing a possible transfer with interested parties, including Liverpool.
Liverpool are interested in strengthening at left-back with Kostas Tsimikas approaching the end of his contract. Balde could provide competition for Milos Kerkez as early as January or next summer.
