The agent of AC Milan's Portuguese winger Rafael Leao has reached out to multiple Premier League clubs, notably Manchester United, Arsenal, and Leeds United.
Journalist Ben Jacobs confirmed these contacts on talkSPORT but expressed doubts about the likelihood of Leao moving to England:
Rafael Leao has indeed been offered to Leeds United, as well as Manchester United and Arsenal. The finances involved, the scale of the deal, and the clubs’ appetite suggest there won't be any progression. My expectation at this point is that Leao may end up in Turkey.
The transfer situation
AC Milan has lowered their asking price: Initially, the Italian club demanded over €100 million (£86 million) for their winger, but they are now willing to let him go for around €50 million (£43 million) to ease their wage bills and boost their budget.
Manchester United's stance: The attacking options for the Red Devils hinge on the future of Marcus Rashford. Manager Michael Carrick is counting on the 28-year-old forward for the new season.
Interest from Turkey: Galatasaray has stepped up negotiations and is ahead of Fenerbahce in the race to sign the Portuguese winger. Their opening bid of around €30-35 million was rejected, but talks are ongoing.
Alternatives: Tottenham Hotspur also considered Leao but ultimately opted for Cody Gakpo and Savinho instead.
The Portuguese's contract with Milan runs until June 2028, but both parties are looking to part ways before the summer transfer window closes.
