Manchester City are among the clubs keeping an eye on 21-year-old River Plate goalkeeper Santiago Beltran.
The Argentine stopper has caught the attention of several European sides, with Aston Villa, Benfica, and Real Betis also monitoring his progress. Argentina's national team are similarly interested in the young talent.
River Plate have reacted accordingly
In response to the growing interest from Europe, River Plate have acted swiftly, extending Beltran's contract until December 2027.
This new deal includes a buyout clause set at €21 million, a clear indication of the club's determination to keep hold of the promising goalkeeper.
Beltran joined River Plate in January 2025 and has steadily garnered attention beyond Argentina. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at €9 million.
However, River Plate have set the buyout clause at €21 million—more than double his current market valuation.
