15-Second Brief
Jobe Bellingham has received his first senior England call-up, with Thomas Tuchel citing his Dortmund form and Lee Carsley's recommendations.

Jobe Bellingham has received his first senior England call-up and will join older brother Jude in the squad. Thomas Tuchel explained his decision by citing the 21-year-old midfielder's good form and positive reports from Lee Carsley.

Jobe plays for Borussia Dortmund, having joined from Sunderland in the summer of 2025.

Tuchel said England Under-21 head coach Lee Carsley had long recommended that he take a look at Bellingham:

Lee Carsley has spoken very highly of Jobe for weeks and months now.

He said Jobe deserved a chance if there was room and an opportunity to join the senior squad and show what he can do.

He has had some good games and is in excellent form at Dortmund right now, so he has earned his place with us.

Tuchel also explained how Jobe differs from his older brother:

He is a more defensive player than his brother.

He is good on the ball, physically strong, tall, technically gifted and able to retain possession.

Now it is up to him.

The coach acknowledged, however, that the newcomer would have very little time to adapt.

We only have Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare.

It will be difficult because we worked on new systems and certain principles of play at the last camp.

It won't be easy to learn all of that in two days, but now it is up to him.

He is excited, happy and very keen to show what he can do. That is the best foundation for a good camp.

Jobe's path has much in common with Jude's career: the older Bellingham also played for Borussia Dortmund before joining Real Madrid.

The brothers are now in the senior England squad together for the first time and could have the chance to play alongside each other in the Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.
