Al Ahli forward Ivan Toney has been charged over a nightclub fight in London, with a court hearing scheduled for September 24th.

England striker Ivan Toney has been officially charged with assault causing bodily harm.

The incident took place on December 6th last year at a nightclub on Wardour Street in central London. The charges against the 30-year-old forward, who currently plays for Saudi club Al Ahli, were announced on July 31st. A hearing involving the player is set for September 24th at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

Toney's representative commented on the situation:

Ivan has been informed of the charges and, while he is understandably shocked, he looks forward to the opportunity to clear his name in court.

The forward, who has previously played for Northampton Town, Newcastle United, Peterborough United, and Brentford, made the move to Saudi Arabia in 2024. During the last World Cup, Toney featured in the bronze medal match against France (6-4) and came off the bench in the semi-final against Argentina (1-2).
