Four players from Arsenal and three from Sunderland have been named in the worst XI of the Premier League weekend by stats site WhoScored.
In a disappointing showing, Arsenal suffered a heavy defeat against Brighton, while Sunderland experienced a wild 5-3 loss to Manchester City that admitted eight goals in total. Shockingly, not a single player from Chelsea or Tottenham made the cut, while two Ipswich players and representatives from Hull City and Bournemouth also appeared in the anti XI.
At the heart of the poor performance team was Robins Ruffs from Sunderland (5.02), who conceded five against Manchester City, not to mention a glaring mistake that led to a free-kick goal. His counterpart, David Raya, also received a low rating this weekend.
Making his way into the right back position was Jurriën Timber of Arsenal (5.73), who let a Brighton player slip past him and was substituted shortly thereafter.
At the centre of defence stood Kevin Danso from Sunderland (5.16) and Ezri Konsa from Arsenal (5.74). Danso made a shocking error from a poor pass, while Konsa failed to make a single tackle throughout the match, looking utterly lost on the pitch.
On the left, Leif Davis of Ipswich (5.96) endured a dire outing against Everton, notably missing a great opportunity to score.
In midfield, Noah Sadiki from Sunderland (5.88) and Bruno Guimaraes from Arsenal (5.66) struggled significantly. Sadiki didn’t make any tackles, and Guimaraes had a disappointing start to his career at the club, making a positional error for the first goal conceded.
Occupying the attacking midfielder role was Ryan Christie from Bournemouth (5.56), who lost possession 15 times without a single key pass to his name. Florian Wirtz also had an indisputably dismal performance this time around.
On the wings, Abdul Fatawu from Ipswich (5.37) and Sorba Thomas from Hull City (5.30) found themselves struggling; Fatawu lost the ball an astonishing 11 times and received a foolish red card for simulation against Everton. Meanwhile, Thomas squandered possession 14 times against Newcastle without successful crosses.
Spearheading the attack, Kai Havertz from Arsenal (6.15) faced a toothless day, rarely touching the ball and failing to convert a one-on-one chance against Brighton's goalkeeper.
