Manchester City have reached a principle agreement with London club Chelsea over the transfer of 26-year-old Portuguese winger Pedro Neto.
The fee will be £70 million guaranteed, with a further £5 million in bonuses for individual and team achievements.
This transfer will allow the Portuguese player to reunite with former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca, who previously took charge of the Manchester club. Pedro Neto joined Chelsea from Wolverhampton in the summer of 2024 for £54 million. During his time at Stamford Bridge, the winger has become one of the main creative leaders of the attack, helping to secure UEFA Europa Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup trophies.
Negotiations regarding personal contract terms are nearing completion. For Chelsea, this sale will bring a solid net profit, which is vital for balancing financial reports after significant summer spending, including the record signing of Morgan Rogers.
Enzo Maresca views Pedro Neto as the perfect reinforcement for the flanks due to his high speed, dribbling, and understanding of the coaching staff's requirements. There has also been reported interest from AC Milan in the winger; however, the player himself preferred to continue his career in the Premier League.
In the coming days, the player will undergo a medical examination, after which both parties will finalise legal documents and issue an official statement.
