Real Madrid have made the final decision not to sell right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold during the current summer transfer window.
Despite calls from British pundits for the 27-year-old to return to Liverpool, manager Jose Mourinho views the England international as a crucial part of his tactical setup.
Spanish publication AS has confirmed the Royal Club's stance:
“Real Madrid do not intend to sell Trent. Mourinho considers him an extremely important player for his team and believes that the Englishman can regain optimum form and help the club compete for key trophies.”
Rumours of a move to Emirates and Anfield
Alexander-Arnold's first season in Spain has been challenging due to injuries and fierce competition. The arrival of Denzel Dumfries from Inter has only added to the complications.
In light of this, talkSPORT pundits Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andy Townsend urged Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola to consider a loan move for the defender:
