Italian club Napoli is pursuing Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus as a possible successor to Romelu Lukaku, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Napoli's sporting director, Giovanni Manna, believes the Brazilian would be a fantastic addition to their attacking options, and it seems Jesus is open to the idea of moving to Italy.
However, a loan deal is currently off the cards, as the forward has just one year left on his contract with the London club.
In January, he will be able to discuss terms with foreign teams and could potentially leave on a free next summer.
Another major hurdle is the player's salary. In England, he reportedly earns around €9 million net per season, a figure that Napoli cannot afford at the moment.
For Napoli to advance in any negotiations with Arsenal, they will need to convince the 29-year-old to accept a significant pay cut.
The Italians admire Jesus for his experience in the Premier League and Champions League, as well as his versatility across various attacking roles.
