Newcastle are ready to battle for Manchester City forward Omar Marmush, valued at £50-55 million. The club is also seeking an experienced midfielder, considering Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Marseille and Joao Palhinha from Bayern.

After the sales of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, and Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle have a hefty budget for the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

According to CaughtOffside, one of the top candidates to bolster their attack is 27-year-old forward Omar Marmush from Manchester City. The Egyptian is reportedly unhappy with his lack of game time at the Etihad, and City manager Enzo Mareska has hinted that the club won’t stand in the player’s way if he wishes to leave. The potential deal is valued at around £50-55 million.

Looking for an experienced midfielder

Newcastle's head coach Matthias Jaissle is on the hunt for a seasoned midfielder to help orchestrate play and guide a youthful midfield:

  • Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Talks are progressing well regarding the midfielder from Marseille. A deal worth about £13 million could materialise in the next 48 hours, with the 31-year-old Dane reportedly keen on making the switch.
  • Joao Palhinha: If the Hojbjerg transfer falls through, an alternative is the Portuguese midfielder from Bayern, who spent last season on loan at Tottenham. Aston Villa are also interested in signing Palhinha.

Newcastle are looking to secure only one of the two former Spurs midfielders, currently placing priority on Hojbjerg.
