Nottingham Forest striker Liam Delap has spoken after the team's impressive 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, reflecting on his recent transfer to the club.
“It’s always nice to score, especially when you can finish a move like that. We knew Villa play a very high line. I've only been here a few weeks, but the reception has been great, and I'm really enjoying it,” Delap told BBC Sport.
The young forward emphasised that getting regular game time was his main priority following his move.
“As a young player, all you want is to play. I think I made a great decision coming here, and I hope to show what I can do,” he added.
Delap also praised the coaching style of Nottingham Forest's manager.
“The manager has a very clear plan for how he wants us to play. Today we showed that we can execute it well,” he said.
“I definitely think I made the right choice moving to Nottingham Forest,” he concluded.
The striker highlighted the team's ability to implement the manager's tactics and secure an important away victory.
