15-Second Brief
Chelsea winger Estevao has returned to the Brazil squad after a serious injury kept him out of the World Cup. The 19-year-old thanked his family for their support and described the call-up from Carlo Ancelotti as a privilege.

The Chelsea winger Estevao has openly expressed his emotions and immense gratitude for his call-up to the Brazil national team for upcoming friendly matches against Australia and India.

For the 19-year-old talent, this marks his first inclusion in the Selção's squad since suffering a devastating injury—a ruptured right hamstring—sustained in April 2026 while playing for Chelsea. This injury dashed the young player's hopes of featuring in the World Cup, turning into a personal tragedy.

At a press conference in Brisbane, Estevao shared his experiences:

My family played a fundamental role during my recovery, which is quite tough for athletes. We missed a special moment, but they were always there for me.

The player added that resilience and the ability to focus on the future helped him navigate the challenging rehabilitation process. Prior to his injury, the young Brazilian had already made a mark by scoring for his country against Chile, South Korea, Senegal, and Tunisia.

Estevao referred to the opportunity to work under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti, who leads the Brazil national team, as a "privilege" and a powerful motivation to give his all on the pitch every day.

The Brazil squad will face two matches against Australia (on Friday in Townsville and September 29 in Brisbane), followed by a meeting with the Indian team in Kolkata on October 3.
