Insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Manchester United have sanctioned the departure of 28-year-old Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayindir to Spanish side Celta.
The move will take place on loan with an option to buy for €4 million, which may adjust based on the number of appearances Bayindir makes. The player has already received clearance to fly to Spain to undergo a medical and finalise the contract.
Goalkeeper shake-up at United
Bayindir's exit comes on the back of a summer reshuffle in Manchester United's squad.
The new backup: The free transfer of Karl Darlow has positioned the Welshman as the main cover for first-choice goalkeeper Senne Lammens, while seasoned pro Tom Heaton remains the club’s third-choice keeper.
Witek's exit: Alongside Bayindir, the Red Devils are also ready to part ways with another goalkeeper; 22-year-old Radek Witek is reportedly close to a permanent move to Middlesbrough.
Other transfer plans for the Manchester club
As the transfer window approaches its closing month, Manchester United are looking to secure a third central midfielder and a left-back.
However, a deal for Lewis Hall from Newcastle looks off the cards; after the sale of Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal, along with the departures of Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon, the Magpies have ruled out letting their defender leave.
