Union Saint-Gilloise's general director Philippe Bormans accidentally confirmed the completion of the deal for 21-year-old winger Anan Halaili to Crystal Palace. The London club is expected to officially announce the transfer soon.

Philippe Bormans, the general director of Union Saint-Gilloise, has inadvertently confirmed that Israeli player Anan Halaili is set to join Crystal Palace.

The Belgian publication Het Nieuwsblad published an interview with Bormans following his side's exit from the Champions League qualifiers against Bodo/Glimt (2-3). Despite the disappointment of the result, he addressed questions from journalists, primarily regarding the future of Halaili.

Bormans stated:

Anan Halaili has a tremendous future ahead of him. He has all the physical attributes to perform in the Premier League. Anan is ready for this step. He came to us with high expectations and under serious pressure — let’s not forget he was our record signing. But Anan has truly shown, especially during this Champions League campaign, that he possesses all the athletic qualities to succeed in the Premier League.

Ready for the Premier League

The 21-year-old has made a name for himself in the Belgian league and European competitions. While an official announcement from either club has yet to come, Bormans’ comments suggest that the move is essentially complete.
