Tottenham may receive a substantial financial boost of approximately £5 million should 24-year-old Irish striker Troy Parrott complete a move from AZ Alkmaar to West Ham United.
The Spurs academy graduate struggled to establish himself in the first team and was subsequently sold to the Dutch side for €8 million (£6.7 million) in the summer of 2024 after a series of loan spells. Tottenham included a clause in the contract to retain 20% of the fee from any future transfer involving the player.
Success in Eredivisie and West Ham's interest
During his two seasons with AZ, Parrott transformed into one of the top scorers in the Eredivisie.
His impressive stats: the striker scored 51 goals and provided 17 assists in 96 official matches for the Alkmaar side across all competitions, helping the team clinch the KNVB Cup and the Johan Cruyff Shield.
As West Ham undergoes a rebuild following their relegation to the Championship, they are actively seeking to bolster their attacking line under the guidance of Nuno Espirito Santo. The sales of Krisenio Somerville and Mateus Fernandes have provided sufficient funds for the club to pursue a new forward.
The Dutch club values their standout player at £25 million (€30 million), and West Ham has expressed a willingness to meet AZ's financial demands, paving the way for the Irishman’s potential return to English football.
