Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka expressed his feelings after a challenging away win against Sunderland (2-0) in the fourth round of the Premier League at the Stadium of Light.
This win capped off a demanding seven-day spell for the Gunners, who had previously triumphed over Chelsea before flying to Italy for a Champions League clash where they overcame Napoli (1-0).
In a post-match interview, Saka highlighted the team's character and the game-changing moments:
This is a massive, really important victory for us. I enjoyed it a lot; it was a tough match, but there was a turning point with David (Raya) making a crucial save, and then a key moment for Bruno (Guimaraes) scoring, which changed the game and helped us secure the win. The goal was simply magnificent: the way the ball hit the net, our celebration — everything was fantastic. It's a special moment for him, and he thoroughly deserves it, as he’s a top player.
The contributions came not just from those who started, but also from the lads on the bench. Bruno proved that with his introduction, as did all the other substitutes. We’re going to keep pushing forward as a squad, and that will give us tremendous strength as the season progresses.
This has been an incredible week for us. There have been a lot of flights and travels. People on the outside don’t understand how tough it all looks behind the scenes. But I’m absolutely delighted with how we’ve handled the demands and managed to secure three wins in three challenging matches. It’s amazing for us. A huge credit goes to the team, the coaching staff, and each one of us. We must continue in this same spirit — this marathon doesn’t stop.
