The Dorset police have officially concluded their investigation into the brazen robbery of Harry Redknapp's £5 million mansion. During the heist, criminals stole jewellery valued at approximately £300,000, but the inquiry has reached a standstill — no suspects have been apprehended.
The gang targeted the home of the former Premier League manager in July last year while the 79-year-old was visiting his wife Sandra in hospital.
The upscale property, located near the prestigious Sandbanks peninsula, was on the market at the time of the theft. According to one working theory from detectives, the robbers may have utilised photographs and layout details from the Rightmove listing to pinpoint the mansion and plan their entry.
Among the stolen items were a £55,000 heart-shaped diamond pendant and a £42,000 Cartier bracelet.
Dorset police have confirmed the investigation's closure, stressing that it could be reopened should new evidence come to light.
Our investigation is complete. However, if any new leads or avenues of inquiry arise, they will be appropriately pursued, said a Dorset police spokesperson.
Since retiring from professional management, Redknapp has remained active in the media. Earlier this year, he led a team in the charity tournament Soccer Aid, participated in the popular TV show I’m A Celebrity, and even offered his services as a temporary coach for Tottenham at the end of last season.
