Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has joined the lively debate surrounding Manchester City's recent ruling for financial breaches. The Spanish shot-stopper took to social media platform X, posting a question that had Red Devils fans calculating:

As it stands, the official answer is just one.
However, under a hypothetical scenario where those results could be revisited, De Gea might be in line for a total of four championship medals.
The Spaniard clinched the Premier League title with Manchester United in the 2012/13 season, his second year at Old Trafford. Throughout his time at the club, Manchester City managed to outpace the Red Devils in the race for the crown three times, leaving them in the runners-up spot during the 2011/12, 2017/18, and 2020/21 seasons.
In the 2011/12 season, City snatched the title on goal difference thanks to Sergio Aguero's legendary last-minute goal against Queens Park Rangers, while United finished second.
Fast forward six years, and Pep Guardiola's side racked up a record-breaking 100 points, with Jose Mourinho's team trailing behind with 81 points as vice-champions.
In the 2020/21 campaign, the Citizens beat United by a massive 12 points, leaving their fierce rivals once again in second place.
If we imagine that the titles won by Manchester City during these years were annulled, and the medals retroactively awarded to the runners-up, De Gea's tally would rise dramatically from one to four.
