Tottenham defender Pedro Porro is keen to exit the London club, setting his sights on a move to Barcelona this January.
The catalyst for this decision seems to stem from an increasingly fraught relationship with manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Spanish journalists Enric Canellas and Juan Jesus report that Porro's situation has drastically changed since the Italian took over, leading to a series of fiery exchanges both privately and in front of the entire squad.
Juan Jesus confirmed the unfolding situation:
Pedro Porro is actively seeking to return to Spain, whether it be this winter or closer to the summer. His top priority is Barcelona. The full-back knows Barcelona leads the most ambitious project for a player of his calibre, surrounded by most of his international teammates. The main reason for this position is the dreadful relationship he has with Roberto De Zerbi. Following De Zerbi's recent appointment, Porro's prospects have changed drastically, resulting in several heated confrontations. Currently, he's much closer to leaving Tottenham than staying.
Adding fuel to the fire, Porro recently signed a new contract with Tottenham, committing until 2031. At present, the World Cup 2026 hopeful is sidelined, recovering from a hamstring injury.
Barcelona are reportedly prepared to entertain a deal and may include Alejandro Balde, who has found game time hard to come by in Catalonia, as part of the negotiations.
