15-Second Brief
Newcastle look to bolster their attacking flanks this winter and may revamp their interest in Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli. The 24-year-old, whose summer move was hindered by injury, recently excelled in a match for Morocco and maintains strong statistics in La Liga.

Newcastle could be set to make a fresh bid for Betis winger Abde Ezzalzouli when the January transfer window opens. The 24-year-old Moroccan was on the club's radar last summer, but a knee injury thwarted any potential transfer.

Improving their wing options remains a top priority for manager Matthias Jaissle. While Harvey Barnes has impressed in the absence of Anthony Gordon, the performances of Bazoumana Kone, Jacob Murphy, and Anthony Elanga have been inconsistent at the start of the season.

According to The Athletic, signing a new winger is likely to be one of Newcastle's main targets in January, putting Ezzalzouli back in the frame.

The Moroccan ended the previous season with an impressive tally of 15 goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances for Betis. During the current campaign, he has found the net once in four matches.

During the international break, Ezzalzouli also shone for the Moroccan national team, scoring from the penalty spot and securing his third goal for the country against Mali. Notably, he had the most touches in the opponent's box among players in that match, with nine.

His statistics in La Liga have stood out among his peers, placing him in the top 14% of wingers in the league for expected assists per 90 minutes at 0.32. Additionally, he averages 2.58 successful dribbles per match.

Furthermore, Ezzalzouli boasts an impressive pass accuracy of 87.7%, ranking highly among La Liga wingers for touches in the opponent's penalty area, duels won, and chances created.

At present, there have been no updates regarding new negotiations between Newcastle and Betis. However, with the club’s plans for January taking shape, Ezzalzouli could once again be among the candidates to strengthen their squad.
